Perpetual Motion was started in 2002 by Dave Kelly as a way to organize an Ultimate Frisbee League for his friends and other people around the community. The first league started with two divisions, and 16 teams. In 2003, Perpetual Motion added Beach Volleyball with 16 teams, split between competitive and recreational divisions. By 2006, Flag Football6 vs. 6 Soccer, Disc Golf and Dodgeball had been added to the list of sports. Perpetual Motion now has over 450 teams playing across 28 different leagues during the Summer season.

Perpetual Motion offers leagues at varying degrees of skill, from recreational to competitive. While the level of competition is different, the level of sportsmanship, fun, and general camaraderie remains high in all leagues. In addition, all of our sports are self-refereed, not only to keep costs low, but because we trust in you, the participant, to play fairly, honestly, and with constant regard for your teammates and the other team.

In addition to our leagues, Perpetual Motion runs various tournaments throughout the year including Disc Golf's 'Spring Fling', Beach Volleyball's 'King of the Castle' and 'Where's the Beach?', Dodgeball, Ultimate's 'Stall Fall Classic', Soccer's 'World Cup', and Flag Football's 'Beaver Bowl'.

If you're looking for something to do after the games, Perpetual Motion has established a connection with a large number of restaurants and bars around the city of Guelph. This is to ensure that you have somewhere nearby to eat, drink, and socialize with your teammates and other members of the league. Information on restaurants, their locations, and deals can be found here.

We look forward to having you join our leagues and we will see you at the game!
